When God answers even our silliest prayers.

I was reminded to write this post during our second session with Bishop Muray Mora last Tuesday. We were talking about how our relationship with God affects our view towards prosperity, and it just dawned into me a realization with how God has been amazing me these past few weeks.

GOD CAN ANSWER EVEN OUR SILLIEST REQUESTS.

Yeahp! You heard (err, read ) me right! :) Let me explain myself by sharing to you the story why I was able to say that.

I am currently living in a housing unit and every time I would go to the comfort room and use it, for most of the time, somebody else was using it so I have had to wait for my turn and oh man! how I hated waiting. For the first times that I had to wait (and stand outside for "ages") I would ask God to build my patience.

But as the frequency of me having to be stuck outside and wait for my turn in using the CR, I blurted out a prayer that goes like this.. "Lord, I pray that the next time I would use the CR, I wouldn't have to wait so long anymore! I pray for the CR to be available for my use!" And to tell you honestly, that prayer came out of a frustrated, impatient and silly heart. But little did I know, my prayer reached heaven and came to the very ears of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

So, the next time I had to use the CR--it was EMPTY. But I told myself not to get mystical and not draw up my Connected theme so much! (unbelieveing me, right?!) But the next times that I would use the CR, it would always be empty or for the very few times that it wasn't, I would remember how God has answered my silly prayer, then after a few moments the one who is in the CR would come out!! I found it so ridiculously amazing! I was in awe. The silliest prayer that I had prayed was granted! (OMG!)

This very thing even led me into a realization after realization of how in the past God has done the same thing--like when I prayed for the traffic to go faster jsut because I don't wanna get stuck and I was too impatient, when I prayed for the internet connection to go faster just so I can upload or download easier, when I would pray for a food I'm craving to be available in the canteen or even at a birthday pary I would attend..the realizations just kept coming! I had been given miracles after miracles in  the past but I missed it just because for me it just seemed so silly to be a work of God.

I was just this silly girl who without even thinking pray for something. But God answered. God delivered. It's amazing how faithful God is to His people. It's amazing how God hears and cares even for the silliest concerns that we have. But sometimes, what's more ironically amazing is how we view God as someone who can do the supernatural but hardly view Him as a God who's willing to do the natural for us.

We were reminded in our class with Bishop Juray how the Israelites grumbled before God when they were in the desert. They just came out of Egypt--saw how God spared them from the plagues he gave to the Egyptians, how He turned the favors of the Egyptians towards them that they were given whatever they asked for, and how God parted the Red Sea through Moses and allowed them to pass through it walking on dry ground while the Egyptians drowned behind. They just witnessed firsthand how God performed GREAT miracles FOR them, but here they were in the desert--grumbling because of FOOD.

"In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The  Israelites said to them, "If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death."-Exodus 16:2-3

Ironic right? The Israelites were able to put their trust in God when He delivered them out of their oppression in Egypt, but they can't even put their trust in God with the simplest thing like--well, food.

"Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these fory years, to humble you and test you in order what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known to teach you that man does not leave on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years..." -Deuteronomy 8:2-4

God is truly faithful. And His faithfulness is not limited to the supernatural things we frequently ask of Him. Yes we can say that maybe one of God's specialties are the impossibilities, but He can also answer the natural things we are all praying for.

We can never please God without faith in our lives. And He's pleased even as we come to Him for the supernatural things. But He is pleased all the same when we come to Him and "cast our cares upon Him".

I personally believe He is also pleased when we ask Him to do the natural things for us--the silliest, simplest thing we are thinking right now, even if that thing is for the CR to be available for our use when we need it. :)

P.S. I was reminded of this when I was about to publish this. That God is our Father. Like any other earthly Dad that is pleased when his child would sheepishly ask for food because he's hungry.. God's heart overflows with desire to give us what we ask of Him. :)
